We’ve made it to release day! I hope you had a nice Memorial Day weekend. Run over to the MFT shop and blog to see everything new and pick up the items on your wish list.
Today, I’m sharing a mermaid from JB Fintastic Friends that I colored with Prisma colored pencils. I went live on Instagram for the first time ever on Friday night. During the live, I colored one of these mermaids. I have never colored a person or hair with pencils before so it was a night full of firsts. I wasn’t super happy with how my first one turned out, so I tried again. I really liked how this one turned out so it made it to this card. Check out the replay of the live to see some colored pencil tips. I am learning something new each time I color and am enjoying the process. I encourage you to keep practicing!

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
- On an A2 card base, adhere a piece of patterned paper cut down to size from the Soft Stripes paper pad.
- Stamp a few images from JB Fantastic Friends on Strathmore Toned Gray sketch paper. Color the images with a variety of Prisma colored pencils. Then die cut with the coordinating die-namics. Add one additional layer behind each die cut for extra stability.
- Die cut a white panel of cardstock with the stitched rectangle in Blueprints 24.
- Using Sno Cone, Cornflower, and Caribbean Sea inks, stencil the Watercolor Strokes Stencil. Overlap the strokes so the colors mix together.
- After stenciling, splatter with water, blue ink, and white paint. Take a wet paintbrush to areas to spread the ink further and add a more water feel.
- Once the panel is dry, stamp a sentiment in the upper left. Add foam tape and adhere to the card front.
- Adhere the images with foam tape and liquid glue.
- Embellish with iridescent bubble drops.

Hope you enjoyed all the inspiration – can’t wait to see what you make with these products!
